Paulaner has brewed in Munich since 1634, and the doppelbock carries the legacy of Franciscan monks who pioneered this beer style in the 17th century. Originally called 'liquid bread', it sustained monks through fasting periods. This strong, full-bodied German lager showcases layered malt character with caramel and toffee notes, balanced by a gentle sweetness. The use of Hallertau hops and Munich yeast delivers a clean, muted profile with restrained bitterness and a faintly peppery finish.
