Grimbergen Optimo Bruno is a dark, robust beer from Brouwerij Alken-Maes, crafted in the Belgian abbey tradition. Originally brewed as an Easter special, this 10% quadrupel is now enjoyed year-round. The beer pours a deep ruby red with a complex nose of burnt sugar, overripe dark stone fruits, chocolate and caramel. On the palate, sweet and bitter notes meld with fermented fruit character, leading to a full, warming finish that masks its considerable alcohol strength. Double fermentation brings depth and refinement. Despite its power, the beer drinks with surprising elegance.
