Brouwerij Deca in Westvleteren crafts this blonde ale with a distinctive character. After one year of maturation in oak barrels, a measured amount of whiskey is introduced during the aging process, complementing a base of water, barley malt, candi sugar, hops and spices. At 12% ABV, the beer develops honey and vanilla notes from its extended barrel time. Unfiltered and unpasteurised, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle for natural carbonation. The palate shows bready and caramel flavours with balanced spice, while the finish lingers with complexity earned from its patient oak maturation.
