The 4 Horsemen – Conquest is an English Barleywine brewed by Brouwerij d'Oude Maalderij in Izegem, Belgium. This robust beer emerged from a single base brew of 2000 litres, from which five distinct fruity variants were produced – an ambitious undertaking realised by d'Oude Maalderij's brewers in collaboration with Brouwerij Brouwersnös. At 14% ABV, this is a full-bodied barleywine true to the English tradition. The beer marries the malt sweetness characteristic of the style with fruity notes developed through fermentation. This is a contemplative beer, best savoured slowly, revealing its warmth and depth as it opens in the glass.
