Isid'or
La Trappe Isid'or is an amber Trappist ale from Koningshoeven Abbey Brewery, named after Brother Isidorus, the abbey's first brewer. Created in 2009 to commemorate the brewery's 125th anniversary, this beer carries a piece of monastic brewing history.
The beer opens with fruity aromas that gracefully shift toward malty caramel notes. Sweet on the palate with dark fruit character—plums, raisins and figs—followed by banana and clove spice. A gentle bitterness provides balance without dominating the finish.
Brewed with natural ingredients only—barley, hops, yeast and spring water from the abbey's own source—La Trappe Isid'or is bottle-conditioned, allowing fermentation to continue in the bottle and develop its distinctive aromatic profile.
