Bockbier
La Trappe Bockbier is a rare Trappist bock brewed by the monks of Koningshoeven Abbey in Berkel-Enschot since 1931. This robust ale brings together the full, malty character of a bock with the authentic brewing heritage of monastic tradition.
Deep reddish-brown in colour, the beer displays an intensely rich malt aroma with notes of roasted malt, coffee and nuts. The palate is full-bodied and malty, with a pleasant bitterness derived from aromatic hop varieties and roasted malts. The brewery uses only natural ingredients: barley, hops, yeast and spring water from its own source.
La Trappe Bockbier was named best bock in the Netherlands in 2014 and remains one of only two beers worldwide officially recognised with the Trappist designation.
