't Gaverhopke

't Gaverhopke is a small artisan brewery located in Waregem (Stasegem), in the West Flanders region of Belgium. It was founded in 1994 by Erik Ameye and his wife Christiane Soens. When Erik retired in 2007, the brewery was taken over by Gudrun Vandoorne and her partner, who continued the brewing tradition with the same passion for quality regional beer. As an artisan brewery, 't Gaverhopke focuses on crafting high-quality Belgian beers with a strong regional identity. The brewery is part of the vibrant Leiestreek beer scene and is featured in West Flanders beer tourism guides. The portfolio includes characterful Belgian ales that reflect the craftsmanship and tradition of the region. One of its well-known beers is the 't Gaverhopke Extra, which even made its way to the United States as one of the first Belgian imports distributed by the importer that would later become Twelve Percent Beer Project. Visitors to the brewery can enjoy the cosy tasting room, where a selection of the brewery's regional beers can be sampled. 't Gaverhopke is listed as one of Belgium's notable breweries on Tripadvisor and appears in the official Toerisme Vlaanderen Belgian beer experiences guide, underlining its reputation as a worthy destination for beer lovers exploring the West Flanders countryside.
