Brouwerij 't Gaverhopke in Nieuwenhove has brewed regional beers since 1994 in a traditional family setting. Den 12 was founder Erik Ameye's favourite beer and remains the brewery's signature expression.

This dark brown strong ale is brewed with pale malt, brown malt and chocolate malt, finished with Saaz hops. The nose carries raisin and dark fruit character. The palate is rich and malt-forward with sweet notes, hints of plum and raisin, and subtle spicy yeast-derived flavours that add complexity.

The finish is dry and spirited, with a clean bitterness that cuts the sweetness. Full-bodied and warming, the 12% alcohol integrates well into the overall profile, creating a balanced and satisfying strong ale.
