DAVO Bieren is a Dutch craft brewery founded in 2012 by four friends from Deventer, in the eastern Netherlands. The name DAVO is derived from the historical warlord Davo, who reportedly saved a monk — a nod to the city's rich history. From the outset, the brewery has been driven by a passion for craftsmanship, selecting quality ingredients and refining the brewing process to create distinctive, characterful beers. The brewery's portfolio spans a broad range of styles, with a particular focus on barrel-aged beers. Head brewer Arnoud Pijpker is known for his work with wooden casks, using the maturation process to develop layered, complex flavour profiles. Alongside these barrel-aged specialities, DAVO also brews more accessible styles, offering something for a wide range of beer enthusiasts. The brewery has gained attention for its DAVO Bordo, which was recognised at the Brussels Beer Challenge. Davo Bieren offers brewery tours and tasting experiences, where visitors can learn about the history of the brewery, the brewing process, and the team's ambitions — all enjoyed with a selection of DAVO beers on tap.
