Brouwerij Wentersch is a Dutch craft brewery based in Winterswijk, a town in the Achterhoek region of the eastern Netherlands. The brewery has built a strong local identity, rooting itself firmly in the character and traditions of its region. Its taproom — known as the proeflokaal — welcomes visitors for tastings and events, and the brewery has become a notable stop on the beer trails of the Achterhoek, as featured in local food and drink routes organised by Smaakmakers van de Achterhoek. The brewery's portfolio reflects a passion for diverse beer styles. Among its known beers are Wentersch Wit, a witbier that earned a gold medal as reported in De Gelderlander, and GEVAT10, a barrel-aged beer that impressed the jury of the Rutte Rijpend Bier Challenge with its unexpectedly light character for a barrel-matured style. Brouwerij Wentersch also brews abbey-style beers, including one named Willibrord, and has produced special commission beers such as Noorden Blond, a speciality blonde brewed to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Hotel Het Noorden. Brouwerij Wentersch was named ABT Brouwerij van de Maand — Brewery of the Month — by the Alliantie van Biertapperijen, a recognition awarded by some of the best beer cafés in the Netherlands. The brewery is stocked by specialist beer retailers and has earned a reputation as one of the standout craft breweries in the Gelderland region.
