BRAUW is a city brewery (stadsbrouwerij) based in Genk, in the Belgian province of Limburg. Operating as a collaborative and community-oriented brewing facility, BRAUW positions itself at the intersection of craft beer culture and local identity. The brewery serves as both a production site and a meeting place for beer enthusiasts, home brewers and local producers, making it a lively hub within the Limburg beer scene. BRAUW maintains a modest range of house beers alongside a continuously rotating selection of different beer styles. The brewery is particularly known for its role as a contract and collaboration brewer, producing beers for third parties and facilitating brewing projects for trainees, home brewers and fellow craft producers. Notable collaborations include a joint release with Hophemel, resulting in the Verona pils, and brewing sessions for Syntra trainees. This open and educational approach to brewing gives BRAUW a distinctive character within the Belgian craft beer landscape. The BRAUW bar is an integral part of the experience, where visitors can sample around 25 different beers, including the brewery's own creations. The taproom also stocks a selection of local products beyond beer, reinforcing the brewery's commitment to the Genk community and the broader Limburg region.
