Brasserie des Légendes
Belgium · Founded in 1985
Brasserie des Légendes is an independent, family-run brewery rooted in the Walloon region of Belgium. Its origins trace back to two distinct brewing traditions: the historic Brasserie Ellezelloise, founded in 1985 in the village of Ellezelles, and a brewery project launched by husband and wife Pierre and Vinciane Delcoigne, who purchased the run-down Castel d'Irchonwelz and restored it between 1997 and 2000. In 2006, these two operations merged to form Brasserie des Légendes, combining their heritage while maintaining both the Ath and Ellezelles brewing sites. The brewery prides itself on mastering the full journey from field to bottle, working with traditional infusion brewing — one of the oldest brewing methods in existence. Its portfolio spans a wide range of Belgian beer styles, including strong blonde ales, tripels, and quadrupels. Among its signature ranges are the Goliath and La Corne families, as well as the Quintine Blonde, an unpasteurised and unfiltered Belgian strong blonde ale that exemplifies the brewery's commitment to natural, craft brewing. Brasserie des Légendes welcomes visitors at both its Ath and Ellezelles locations, offering guided tours where beer lovers can discover the secrets behind its brews. The brewery's dedication to local production and independent craftsmanship has made it one of the best-known breweries in the Walloon Picardian region.
