Berging Brouwerij
Netherlands · Founded in 2013
Berging Brouwerij is a craft brewery based in Purmerend, in the Dutch province of North Holland. The brewery takes its name from its origins: it was founded in the storage room ('berging') of one of its founders. After an initial period of brewing, the brewery officially launched in late 2016 in a historic building on the Jaagweg — a location that housed a Hollandia dairy factory over a century ago. According to Biernet.nl, the brewery was formally registered in 2013. Berging Brouwerij is known for its passion for artisanal beer, with a strong focus on quality and creativity. The brewery produces a diverse portfolio of beers, currently counting 13 beers in its range. Among its notable releases is the BW25 Barley Wine Cognac Infused, a cognac-infused barleywine at 9.8% ABV, which showcases the brewery's willingness to experiment with bold ingredients and complex styles. In addition to its own brewing activities, Berging Brouwerij has taken over the production of VD Bieren, a brand from the nearby town of Volendam. This step underlines the brewery's growing role in the North Holland craft beer scene and its commitment to preserving local brewing traditions while pushing creative boundaries.
