A Collaboration in Deepest Oxfordshire

Hook Norton Brewery and London-based Five Points Brewing Co have created Points of Brew, a limited edition cask ale that brings together two respected breweries. This collaborative project between the Oxfordshire-based brewer and its London partner is a modern interpretation of a traditional English ale, designed to showcase the depth and versatility of English hop varieties in contemporary cask beer.

The Recipe

Points of Brew (3.8% ABV) is light copper in colour and brewed entirely with English ingredients. The malt bill features Maris Otter, premium Caramalt, and Vienna malt, while Challenger, Admiral, and UK Cascade hops deliver vibrant, expressive flavour. The result is a balanced, soft-drinking ale with genuine complexity and character that rewards careful attention.

Tasting Profile

The aroma showcases toasted biscuit and toffee notes alongside earthy spice, orange marmalade, and soft grapefruit zest. On the palate, expect a smooth balance of light nutty sweetness with herbal spice and hedgerow citrus notes. The finish is clean and balanced, with a refined bitterness that completes the experience.

Points of Brew launches in early July, available from both breweries' tap rooms, Hook Norton Brewery pubs, and discerning free houses.
