Monteith's Brewing Co. is a New Zealand craft brewing brand with roots on the rugged West Coast of the South Island. Originally established as the Westport Brewery in the 19th century, the brewery later operated under the Monteith's name in Greymouth, a town long associated with coal mining and pioneer spirit. Today the brand is part of DB Breweries, which is itself owned by Heineken, giving Monteith's national and international distribution reach, including a presence in travel retail through Heineken Global Duty Free's Beers of the World portfolio. Monteith's is known for a range of craft-inspired beers and ciders that celebrate New Zealand's natural landscapes and ingredients. The portfolio includes styles such as Pale Ale, alongside seasonal and fruit-driven offerings that reflect the country's produce. With an alcohol content typical of approachable session beers — the Pale Ale sits at 4.6% ABV — the brand positions itself as a craft alternative within a mainstream market, balancing flavour-forward brewing with broad accessibility. In addition to its bottled and canned range, Monteith's has offered brewery tours and beer experience tastings at its original West Coast home, giving visitors a hands-on look at the brand's heritage. The brewery has also been supported by notable marketing partnerships, including work with Colenso BBDO and Dentsu, contributing to a Best Brand Transformation recognition at the 2019 TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards.
