Dorpsweyden is a craft beer initiative based in Zoutleeuw, a small town in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The group was founded by a collective of homebrewers, including Paul Schevenels, who share a passion for regional brewing heritage and local beer culture. Their work is rooted in the historical landscape of the surrounding area, including the nearby village of Dormaal. The collective is best known for its dedication to reviving historical beer recipes from the region. Their brewing is carried out in collaboration with established breweries, including Anders in Halen, where their beers are contract-brewed with an artisanal approach. Dorpsweyden focuses on crafting regional specialty beers that reflect local identity and tradition. Their flagship project is Tormales, a tripel brewed at 8.1% ABV, inspired by an old recipe found in Dormaal — the oldest known name for the village being Tormales. The beer was developed to revive this historical style and has been embraced as an authentic regional product within Flemish Brabant's streekproducten (regional products) movement.
