Bigfoot is Sierra Nevada's flagship American Barleywine, brewed since 1983 as a winter seasonal. This is a bold, muscular beer built on a massive malt foundation and aggressive whole-cone Pacific Northwest hops. The brewery combines two malt types with three distinct hop varieties to achieve its signature character of bittersweet intensity. The nose delivers malt, pine, and floral hop notes. The palate opens sweet with caramel and toffee, then shifts to a prominent bitter finish underscored by candied dried fruit and earthy hop resin.
