Aecht Schlenkerla Kräusen is an unfiltered rauchbier from Bamberg brewed with beechwood-smoked barley malt. This summer seasonal beer matures for months in the historic rock caves beneath the brewery. It is served fresh with active yeast, creating a soft, natural carbonation and light cloudiness. The nose presents honeyed malt aromas with subtle smoke. On the palate, smoke and malt character converge in a drinkable, amber-colored lager with gentle bitterness. The finish is clean and dry, with a pleasant warmth that is never overwhelming.
