Haagsche Broeders Pater is a 7.5% ABV rye beer brewed within the walls of the Willibrordushuis monastery in central The Hague. Founded in 2014 by two young Hague natives, Jelger Moggree and Kees Verbogt, the brewery operates under the patronage of the Brothers of Saint John, blending monastic tradition with contemporary brewing craft. Rye forms the backbone of this beer, delivering distinctive character and a balanced bitterness of 30 IBU. The result is a fresh, fruity profile that pairs well with lighter fare—salads, poultry and white fish. The beer reflects the brewery's commitment to quality ingredients and honest brewing.
