Norbertijn Blond is the only Dutch Norbertine beer from Berne Abbey, one of the Netherlands' oldest still-active abbeys (founded 1134). This blonde ale at 6% ABV is brewed following centuries-old tradition, using barley and oat malt, spices and English hops. The beer presents as a golden-yellow, non-sweet specialty ale with full and rich flavour. The taste is refreshing with a lightly spritzy, spicy character from the hop selection. It drinks smoothly despite its full character. Berne Abdijbier has brewed again since 2015 on a limited scale according to its own recipe. Norbertijn Blond won bronze at the Dutch Beer Challenge.
