Berghoeve Brouwerij in Den Ham crafted an ambitious expression with Vat #01: their Imperial IPA Tsjuster aged on Jura Beer barrels. This was the brewery's first barrel-aging venture back in 2014, marking a turning point in their experimental journey. Maturation on Jura barrels creates a distinctive interplay of bitterness and smokiness, rounded out by fruity undertones. At 10% ABV, this is a layered beer that marries the assertiveness of an Imperial IPA with the character imparted by its previous barrel life.
