Volle Laag is a tripel from Gudzekop brewery in Goingarijp, Friesland, crafted in partnership with Hallema bakery in Joure. The beer's signature ingredient is Fryske Dúmkes, a traditional Frisian spiced bread that shapes its distinctive profile. The nose reveals yeasty, fruity hop aromas with orange and spice notes. On the palate, sweetness and malt take centre stage, influenced by the sugarloaf bread component, balanced by gentle bitterness. This is an unconventional tripel, stepping away from typical Belgian yeast-driven character in favour of local identity. The finish is clean and dry. At 8.5% ABV, it delivers warmth and body. Food pairing works best with acidic dishes that provide contrast to its malty sweetness.
