Bijen Blond from De Heidebrouwerij is a crisp blonde beer from Ede, inspired by the natural character of the Veluwe region. This beer won a gold medal at the Brussels Beer Challenge in 2015. It is brewed with local barley and Veluwe honey, lending a subtle sweetness to the profile. The beer displays a dark blonde colour with a full white head. Aromas of honey, cinnamon and liquorice emerge on the nose, alongside subtle hop resinousness. The palate is full and sticky-sweet with a light bitterness towards the finish, followed by a pleasant aftertaste. At 6.2% ABV, this is a characterful session beer best enjoyed well chilled.
