À propos
Willemken from Brouwersnös is a blonde ale crafted in Groenlo using four different grains: barley, wheat, rye and spelt. This grain blend gives the beer its full body and distinctive spiced character. Brewed using open fermentation in large vats, the beer develops a layered aromatic profile with three fermentation stages. The palate is crisp and gently fruity, with a pleasant spiced edge. Notes of dried apricot and a hint of banana emerge alongside subtle floral undertones. The mouthfeel is creamy yet balanced, leading to a clean finish. Willemken takes its name from Willem Anten, the last city farmer of Groenlo, who roamed the streets with his wooden wheelbarrow and clogs—a figure as distinctive and characterful as this beer itself.
