Brouwerij Maximus in Utrecht created Limes Red Ale to celebrate the UNESCO World Heritage status of the Neder-Germanic Limes, the ancient boundary of the Roman Empire. This amber ale draws inspiration from historical brewing traditions and is crafted with spelt, wormwood and American hops. The result is a light, sessionable beer with a deep red hue. The aroma reveals citrus, dried lime peel and fresh grassy notes. On the palate, caramel malt balances with lychee and citrus tones, supported by American hops that deliver a gentle bitterness. The finish is dry and clean, without aggressive hop bite.
