Kompel Ondergronds is a Belgian brown ale launched in 2015 as the darker counterpart to Bovengronds. Brewed by Brouwerij Kompel in Maasmechelen, this beer honours the region's mining heritage. It is produced using high fermentation and undergoes bottle conditioning.

This dry dark speciality beer is made with dark malts and multiple hop varieties. It pours with a full, creamy head and dark colour. The palate is malty and spiced with moderate bitterness, supported by subtle fruity notes of apricot and mirabelle. The finish is relatively brief.
