Wunjo is the inaugural beer from Brouwerij IJssel, located in Krimpen aan den IJssel in the Netherlands. Named after an ancient Germanic rune meaning joy, good news and success, this blonde ale marks the brewery's first brew. Brewed with Pilsen and Munich Light malts, then finished with Saaz and Golding hops, Wunjo presents a golden colour with bready malt character balanced by subtle citrus and herbal notes. At 4.7% ABV, it is an approachable and refreshing blonde that combines clean malt sweetness with gentle hop definition. This beer represents the arrival of craft brewing to the IJssel region, an area that previously had no local brewery.
