Stoutste Droom from Brouwerij Het Platte Harnas is an ambitious Imperial Stout from Barneveld, matured for nine months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. This thick, syrupy beer merges the full, smoky character of a classic Russian Imperial with the warmth and vanilla notes drawn from bourbon oak. The nose reveals coffee, dark chocolate and oak, with hints of vanilla from the barrels. On the palate, a full body dominates with toffee and caramel, supported by smoky, roasted malt notes. The finish is dry and lingering, with persistent coffee and chocolate. A beer to sit with and savour—brewed with passion by four friends who grew their hobby brewery into serious craft.
