Bronckhorster Barrel Aged No.39 is the Angus Tripel from Bronckhorster Brewing Company, matured in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. This amber-hued beer marries the elegant fruit sweetness of a Tripel with the warm, full character of well-used bourbon casks. The nose reveals vanilla, caramel and tropical fruit, followed by a palate where bourbon, coconut and hints of orange peel interweave. The 12% alcohol warms without harshness, softened by the barrel's influence. This is craft work from Groenlo: one base batch of 2000 litres, but expanded into multiple variants through different cask and fruit additions. A beer for those who appreciate complexity with character.
