Tricerahops is Ninkasi Brewing's flagship Double IPA from Eugene, Oregon, named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation. Founded in 2006, Ninkasi built this beer as a statement: double the hops, double the malt, double the impact. The aroma leads with citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit over a sweet malt foundation. On the palate, a generous malt backbone holds firm against waves of hop bitterness—pine, citrus and stone fruit dominate, finishing with a clean, resinous bite. The body is full and warming at 8% ABV, never thin despite the aggressive hopping. What sets Tricerahops apart is its restraint. The malt is substantial enough to anchor the hop charge without tipping into cloying sweetness. A well-crafted American Imperial IPA that justifies its reputation.
