Brand Imperator is the Netherlands' oldest craft beer, recently reintroduced by Brouwerij Brand in Wijlre, South Limburg. This Helles Bock draws its rich flavour and amber-orange colour from a full blend of roasted malts, delivering a distinctive balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. It pours with a deep amber hue and substantial white head. The aroma leads with caramel and gently roasted malt, complemented by subtle floral notes. The palate is surprisingly fresh despite its sweet caramel backbone, with a measured bitterness that provides structure and prevents cloying. Medium to full body and smooth carbonation round out the experience.
