Gulpener Korenwolf
Gulpener Korenwolf is a four-grain witbier from southern Limburg, brewed by the independent family brewery Gulpener since 1825. Named after the corn hamster, a rare rodent native only to this region, it earned gold as the Netherlands' best witbier at the 2024 Dutch Beer Challenge.
The beer blends wheat, spelt, rye and barley with coriander seed and orange peel, complemented by elderflower. It presents a golden, hazy appearance with classic witbier character: fresh and sweet on the palate, with pleasant fruity esters and a gentle spicy interplay. The aroma carries typical wheat beer notes with floral and citrus hints.
A versatile pairing with shellfish and seafood, or simply enjoyed as a refreshing summer ale.
