Schoenlappertje is a blackcurrant fruit beer from Scheldebrouwerij, the craft microbrewery that evolved from home brewing in the early 1990s and now operates across the Dutch-Belgian border. This dark brown ale showcases a rounded palate where sweetish toffee malt sits in balance with the tart bite of blackcurrant. The hop character is restrained but present, adding definition without overwhelming the fruit. A clean, dry finish allows the blackcurrant tartness to linger gently.
