Żywiec Brewery
Poland · Founded in 1856
Żywiec Brewery is one of Poland's most storied brewing institutions, founded in 1856 by Archduke Albrecht Friedrich Habsburg in the heart of the Żywiec Valley, a region with brewing traditions stretching back to the Middle Ages. Nestled in the scenic landscape of southern Poland, the brewery has operated continuously for well over a century and a half, making it one of the oldest and most respected breweries in Central Europe. Today it operates as part of Grupa Żywiec, which is affiliated with the Heineken group. The brewery's portfolio is anchored by its flagship Żywiec Full, a clean and well-crafted pale lager that has become a symbol of Polish beer culture both domestically and internationally. Alongside it, Żywiec offers Żywiec Full Light, a lighter pale lager option, as well as the highly regarded Żywiec Porter, a rich and robust Baltic porter that showcases the brewery's range beyond mainstream lager styles. The Królewskie brand, meaning "Royal" in English, rounds out the portfolio as a 6% ABV pale lager with a distinctly bold character. All Żywiec beers are produced exclusively at the historic Archduke Brewery in Żywiec, preserving a sense of heritage and place in every glass. The Żywiec Brewery Museum further honours this legacy, welcoming visitors to explore centuries of Polish brewing history on-site.
