Brewery

Waterfields Brewery

Waterfields Brewery is a small Belgian brewery with roots in West Flanders. The brewery is closely associated with the coastal region of Belgium, with connections to Oostduinkerke and the surrounding area. Tragically, brewer and co-owner Henk Lemaire passed away in April 2021, marking a significant loss for this small independent brewery. The brewery is best known for its beer OBUZ, which is described as deeply rooted in Flemish soil. The barley used in its production is sown and harvested in Passendale, on the fields of that historic region — a nod to local terroir and agricultural heritage that gives the beer its distinct character and identity. Waterfields Brewery has been recognised at international competitions, appearing among winners at the European Beer Challenge 2024. The brewery also produces Zeevonk, a beer connected to the coastal identity of Oostduinkerke, reflecting the brewery's commitment to place-driven brewing with a strong local character.
