Overtone Brewing Co is a craft brewery founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2018 by Bowei Wang and head brewer Dan Miller. From the very beginning, the brewery established itself as a serious player in the UK craft beer scene, quickly gaining a loyal following among hop enthusiasts and beer lovers alike. Initially based in the Yoker area of Glasgow, the brewery later moved to a facility in the Camperdown area of the city, continuing to grow its reputation for quality and innovation. Overtone built its name largely on hop-forward styles, with a particular focus on New England IPAs (NEIPAs), double dry-hopped (DDH) pale ales, and other modern craft beer formats that emphasise juicy, aromatic hop character. Their Southern Hemisphere NEIPA and DDH Pale Ale offerings became well-regarded examples of the style, earning the brewery praise as one of the producers of the best IPAs in the UK. The brewery's approach centres on fresh, flavour-driven brewing that resonated strongly with the contemporary craft beer audience. Despite its strong reputation and loyal fanbase, Overtone faced serious financial difficulties and was placed into liquidation, causing its beers to disappear from supermarket shelves. However, the brewery was subsequently rescued and relaunched under new ownership, signalling a new chapter for one of Glasgow's most beloved craft beer names.
