Geuzestekerij De Cam is a traditional lambic blender located in Gooik, in the heart of the Pajottenland region of Belgium. The geuzestekerij is housed in a building that has been documented since 1515, known as 'des Heeres Landcamme' — with 'Cam' deriving from an old Dutch word. Rather than brewing its own beer from scratch, De Cam operates as a specialist blender, purchasing wort from artisanal lambic breweries such as Girardin, and then carrying out the blending and aging process in-house. This traditional approach places De Cam firmly within the historic craft of geuze production, a method that has defined Belgian spontaneous fermentation culture for centuries. De Cam's portfolio is focused entirely on spontaneously fermented lambic-based styles. The geuzestekerij produces approximately 100 hectolitres per year, making it one of the smallest producers in the region. Its signature offering is the De Cam Oude Geuze, a classic blended lambic-gueuze known for its complexity and character. The range also includes the De Cam Oude Kriek, a traditional fruit lambic refermented with cherries. De Cam is a participant in Toer de Geuze, the celebrated open-doors weekend that invites beer enthusiasts into the world of Pajottenland lambic culture. The geuzestekerij's intimate scale and historical setting — complete with the warm welcome of its host Karel — make it a cherished destination for lovers of authentic Belgian spontaneous fermentation.
