Cruzcampo

Cruzcampo is a Spanish beer brand founded in Seville in 1904, making it the first brewer to be based in the south of Spain. Established with the ambition to brew beer suited to the warm Andalusian climate, the brand quickly grew into an icon of the region. A defining moment in its early history was the discovery of a unique yeast strain in 1904, which gave Cruzcampo its characteristic flavour profile — a delicate balance that set it apart from other lagers of its time. In 1991 the brand was acquired by Guinness Brewing Worldwide, and since 2000 it has been part of the Dutch brewing giant Heineken International. Cruzcampo is best known for its flagship lager, a refreshing and approachable pale lager that has become Spain's most popular draught beer. The brand's brewing philosophy centres on that original yeast strain and a formula that has been carefully refined over more than a century. Cruzcampo also holds a notable place in brewing history as the first Spanish brewer to launch a non-alcoholic beer, doing so as early as 1976. In recent years, Cruzcampo has expanded beyond its home market with a notable UK launch that was described as the biggest beer brand launch since 2007. Visitors to Seville can experience the brand's heritage firsthand through brewery tours at the original factory, offering a deep dive into the history of Andalusia's most famous beer.
