Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn
Poland · Founded in 1994
Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn, also known as the Castle Brewery Cieszyn, is located in the city of Cieszyn in southern Poland. The brewery has a long-standing history in the region, with brewing documented on the site since 1994 under its current form. The brewery operated for many years as part of Grupa Żywiec S.A., a member of the international Heineken group, which used the facility to produce special limited-edition beers from 2009 onwards, including the notable Bracki Koźlak Dubeltowy. In December 2020, Grupa Żywiec sold 100% of its shares in Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn to Felix Investments Sp. z o.o., marking a new chapter for the historic Silesian brewery. The brewery's portfolio spans a broad range of styles, from traditional lagers and Czech-style pilsners to more adventurous craft offerings. Their Cieszyn Lager and Cieszyn Pilsner represent the classic, bottom-fermented side of the range, while the Double IPA Cieszyńskie — an intensively hopped, top-fermented imperial IPA at 8% ABV — showcases the brewery's embrace of modern craft beer culture. The brewery also produces a non-alcoholic Ice Tea IPA, reflecting a growing interest in alcohol-free alternatives. The flagship brand Brackie, a pilsner produced under the full name Arcyksiążęcy Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn (Archduke's Castle Brewery Cieszyn), is among the best-known beers from this brewery and has accumulated thousands of ratings on international beer platforms.
