Brouwerij Deca is a historic Belgian brewery located in Woesten-Vleteren, in the West Flanders province. Its name derives from the first four letters of Decaestecker, the family who originally founded the brewery around 1880–1890. The brewery was destroyed during World War I but was rebuilt and continued operating. In 1980, a descendant of the third-generation Christiaens family purchased the brewery from the Decaestecker family, beginning a new chapter while preserving its deep-rooted heritage. Bottle labels proudly reference the year 1920, a nod to the brewery's storied past. Brouwerij Deca is known for producing robust Belgian beer styles, with strong dark beers featuring prominently in its portfolio. A notable example is the Vleteren Imperial Stout Bourbon BA, a barrel-aged imperial stout that reflects the brewery's ambition for complex, full-bodied brewing. The brewery has also engaged in collaborations with renowned Dutch brewery De Molen, producing special limited series that blend Belgian craftsmanship with Dutch brewing innovation. Beyond its own brewing, Deca operates as a contract and rental brewery, offering its facilities to other brewers such as Brouwerij De Drie Kruizen. This open-door approach has made Deca an important hub in the Belgian craft brewing landscape, combining a proud historical identity with a forward-looking, collaborative spirit.
