Brewpub De Kromme Haring is a brewery and brewpub based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, located at Europalaan 2c. The brewpub opened its doors in 2016, founded by a biologist and home brewer who set out to create surprising, well-made, delicious and drinkable beers. The founders believed Utrecht deserved more unique and enjoyable spots, and used crowdfunding to help bring their vision to life — one of the more successful such campaigns among Dutch breweries and taprooms. De Kromme Haring has built a portfolio that spans a wide range of styles, starting from a simple line-up of blonde and brown beers and growing into a more adventurous and diverse offering. The brewery is known for producing beers that are both approachable and craft-forward, including styles such as saison. They also collaborate with other breweries — a notable example being a collab beer with Nevel, described as a delicate and balanced homage to Dutch beer history. Now celebrating its 12th anniversary with a dedicated festival, De Kromme Haring has grown into a well-regarded name in the Dutch craft beer scene. The brewpub hosts tastings and events, and has collaborated with international names such as Vault City and Buxton Brewery, reflecting its standing within the wider European craft beer community.
