France · Founded in 2006
Brasserie du Pays Flamand is an artisanal brewery founded in 2006 by childhood friends Olivier Duthoit and Mathieu Lesenne. Located in Blaringhem, in the Flemish region of northern France, the brewery draws on the rich brewing traditions of French Flanders, using locally sourced barley and other regional ingredients combined with traditional brewing methods. From the mid-2000s onwards, Brasserie du Pays Flamand established itself as one of the pioneers and leaders of the emerging craft beer scene in northern France. The brewery's portfolio reflects the character of its region, with a focus on artisanal, flavour-forward beers rooted in the local brewing culture. Brasserie du Pays Flamand is particularly associated with Belgian-influenced styles, including blonde ales, that showcase the cross-border brewing heritage of French Flanders. The brewery uses traditional techniques and locally derived ingredients to craft beers with a strong regional identity. The brewery's flagship beer, Anosteké Blonde, has earned widespread recognition and an impressive reputation — it has been praised as one of the finest blonde beers in the world, achieving a score of 4.6 on TasteAtlas and receiving a Gold rating. The name Anosteké is a phonetic rendering of the Flemish expression for 'until next time.' The brewery also operates a taproom in Blaringhem, offering visitors an immersive craft beer experience in the heart of French Flanders.
