Zlatopramen is a Czech lager brand with roots in the brewing heritage of Ústí nad Labem, a city in the Bohemian region of the Czech Republic known historically by its German name Aussig. The brand's international export history dates back to the early 20th century, when beer from the Ústí nad Labem breweries was shipped abroad, establishing Zlatopramen as one of the country's enduring lager names. In 2008, Heineken N.V. acquired the Drinks Union group, bringing Zlatopramen into its international portfolio. Zlatopramen is best known as a leading eleven-degree Plato lager — marketed in the Czech Republic under the slogan "a degree better" — a reference to its 11° Plato original gravity, which sits at the heart of the traditional Czech pale lager style. The brand holds a strong position in the 11-degree beer segment and serves as Heineken's flagship vehicle for this category on the Czech market, including in the radler segment where it has been reported to lead the market. As part of the Heineken Czech portfolio, Zlatopramen is distributed nationally alongside other regional brands such as Březňák and Dačický. The brand is recognised as one of the popular and well-selling Czech lager names, representing the Bohemian pilsner tradition of soft water brewing, noble hops, and bottom-fermented lager craftsmanship.
