Stewart Brewing
United Kingdom · Founded in 2004
Stewart Brewing was founded in 2004 by Steve Stewart and is based at Bilston Glen Industrial Estate in Loanhead, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, Scotland. What began as a small independent operation has grown into one of the most respected craft breweries in the Edinburgh region, earning a prominent place in Scotland's thriving craft beer scene. The brewery has been recognised nationally, securing a notable supply deal with major supermarket chain Asda alongside other leading Scottish craft breweries. Stewart Brewing is known for a broad and varied portfolio, ranging from approachable session ales to fuller, more complex heavier beers. The brewery embraces a range of styles, with a particular focus on hop-forward ales that reflect the character of contemporary Scottish craft brewing. Their beers have been praised for quality and consistency, contributing to the wider Scottish brewing revolution that gained momentum throughout the 2010s. In 2014, Stewart Brewing introduced the 'Craft Beer Kitchen', a brew-your-own experience housed at their Loanhead site featuring three 29-gallon brewing setups. This destination has since evolved into the highly regarded Stewart Brewing Experience, which holds a near-perfect 4.9 rating on Tripadvisor based on over 620 reviews, making it one of Scotland's most celebrated brewery visitor attractions.
