Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus
Netherlands · Founded in 2006
Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus is a brewery located in the heart of Zutphen, a historic Hanseatic city in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The brewery has been active since 2006, originally operating under the name Hanzestadsbrouwerij before adopting its current name. Zutphen has a rich brewing tradition dating back to the Hanseatic era, when the city counted as many as forty breweries — today, Cambrinus proudly carries on that legacy as the only remaining brewery in town. Cambrinus offers an impressive selection of beers on tap, with 34 taps in total, of which 16 are self-pour taps. This self-pour concept is a distinctive feature of the brewery experience, as the selection on these taps rotates regularly, giving visitors the chance to discover a constantly changing range of beer styles. The taproom in the city centre invites beer lovers to explore both local brews and a curated wider selection. With its roots firmly planted in Zutphen's Houtmarkt and its connection to the city's Hanseatic heritage, Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus is both a local institution and a destination for beer enthusiasts visiting the region. Special tasting events and beer walks have been organised in and around the brewery, underlining its role as a hub for beer culture in Gelderland.
