St. Peters Brewery
United Kingdom · Founded in 1996
St. Peter's Brewery is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy, nestled in the Suffolk countryside alongside the medieval St. Peter's Hall in St Peter South Elmham, near Bungay. Housed in former agricultural buildings, the brewery draws on water from its own bore-hole and locally malted barley, giving its beers a distinctive regional character rooted in traditional Suffolk brewing heritage. The brewery produces a broad portfolio of bottled beers and cask ales, ranging from its flagship St. Peter's Golden Ale and Suffolk Gold to a rich Cream Stout and a Premium Lager. The use of local ingredients and time-honoured brewing techniques defines the St. Peter's approach, blending classic British ale styles with a craft sensibility. The iconic oval bottle has become a recognisable hallmark of the brand. Over the years, St. Peter's Brewery has built a strong reputation as one of England's pioneering craft breweries, winning a raft of awards for its range. In 2023, the brewery expanded significantly by acquiring both Curious Brewery and the Wild Beer Co brands, as well as Portobello Brewing, cementing its position as a growing force in the UK independent beer scene.
