Pivovàry Lobkowicz
Czech Republic · Founded in 2005
Pivovary Lobkowicz is a Czech brewing group with deep historical roots, tracing its origins to the brewery in Vysoký Chlumec, which was established as far back as 1466. Although the Lobkowicz family were not the original founders of that brewery, they became closely associated with it over the centuries. The modern corporate entity, Pivovary Lobkowicz Group, a.s., was formally established on July 20, 2005, and has since grown into one of the notable regional brewing groups in the Czech Republic, employing between 200 and 249 people. The group currently operates seven regional breweries across the country: Protivín, Uherský Brod, Jihlava, Rychtář, Klášter, Vysoký Chlumec, and Černá Hora. This wide network allows Pivovary Lobkowicz to maintain a broad portfolio of beer brands, with a strong focus on traditional Czech lager styles. Among their beers, the Lobkowicz Premium Lager — a Czech Bohemian Pilsner brewed at Vysoký Chlumec — is one of their most recognised offerings, alongside a Premium Nealkoholický (non-alcoholic) lager and a Premium Ale that showcases citrus and floral hop character. The group's portfolio spans light beers and specialty styles, reflecting the rich brewing heritage of Bohemia and Moravia. Pivovary Lobkowicz has attracted international investment interest, including partial ownership by Chinese investors, underlining its significance within the broader Czech brewing landscape.
