Founded in June 1996 by Gary McMullen and Kirk Evans, Muskoka Brewery was born from a shared vision of crafting great beer inspired by the rugged lakes, forests, and landscapes of Ontario's Muskoka region. Built on grit and creativity from the very beginning, the brewery has grown from a small craft operation into one of Ontario's most recognised independent craft breweries, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026 with refreshed packaging across its core product range. Muskoka Brewery offers a diverse portfolio of craft beers that reflects both approachability and craft expertise. Their lineup includes styles such as a Cream Ale, a Session IPA called Detour, a classic Lager, and a light lager under the Tread Lightly name. The brewery prides itself on remaining proudly independent while growing its distribution footprint across Ontario, reaching consumers through the LCBO and The Beer Store. With around 130 employees, Muskoka occupies a respected position in the Canadian craft beer landscape. Over three decades, Muskoka Brewery has built a reputation for innovation without losing sight of its regional roots. The brewery has also demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit by partnering with Rally Beer founder Alan Wood, leveraging Muskoka's operational strength and distribution network to grow new brands alongside its own established core range.
