Morebeer Brewing is an Amsterdam-based brewing project that operated as an independent contract brewery (also known as a gypsy or cuckoo brewery), meaning it did not own its own brewing facilities but instead collaborated with established breweries to produce its beers. The brand became part of the Amsterdam craft beer scene and was known for building creative partnerships within the Dutch brewing community. In early 2024, Morebeer Brewing merged with Brouwerij Poesiat & Kater, consolidating its activities under that Amsterdam brewery. Without owning a dedicated brewhouse, Morebeer Brewing focused on recipe development and collaboration, resulting in a portfolio shaped by creative partnerships rather than a fixed production line. One notable example is the Big Fat 9, praised by Dutch beer enthusiasts for its quality. The brewery also played a role in developing what was described as a distinctly Dutch Pale Ale, a recipe originally crafted by Peter van der Arend through Morebeer Brewing, which was later adopted as a core beer by Brouwerij Poesiat & Kater following the merger. Morebeer Brewing also had a presence in Amsterdam's bar scene through a collaboration with Danish craft beer pioneer Mikkeller, operating an intimate beer bar in a secluded spot in the heart of Amsterdam. This partnership underlined Morebeer Brewing's role as a connector within the international craft beer community.
