Jessenhofke is an organic brewery located in Kuringen, a district of Hasselt, in the Belgian province of Limburg. What began as a home brewery became officially recognised as a brewery in August 2010. Nestled between the vibrant Quartier Bleu neighbourhood and the historic Herkenrode Abbey, the first brew was produced in 1999, making it a labour of love that grew organically over more than a decade before gaining formal status. Jessenhofke brews exclusively with organic ingredients, setting it apart in the Belgian beer landscape. The brewery produces top-fermented Belgian ales, using only certified organic hop varieties sourced from Poperinge, the heartland of Belgian hop cultivation. This commitment to organic and sustainable brewing is central to the brewery's identity. Earlier batches were contract-brewed at De Proefbrouwerij in Hijfte, reflecting the brewery's roots as a small, passion-driven operation. Jessenhofke operates as a typical home brewery that welcomes visitors, offering an authentic and intimate brewing experience. The brewery is driven by ideals and passion, and its owner is also co-founder of Team Impact Building, linking the brewery to a broader mission of sustainability. Jessenhofke is a recognised participant in the Limburg craft beer scene and has been featured in Belgian beer tourism guides published by Toerisme Vlaanderen.
